Sharon Tay begins her real estate career by bringing her passion for architecture to Berkshire Hathaway Home Services California Properties in Beverly Hills.
“My move into real estate is out of a need to satisfy a long-standing love of home and design while continuing to serve the community,” said Tay, who has been a news anchor on CBS / KCAL for 13 years. “I firmly believe that a home, no matter how big or small, serves as our refuge and refuge from our daily routine. I am very happy to be a conduit of this need and desire for my clients. “
After leaving the broadcasting world last year, it took Tay a while to ponder his next career move. A friend who knew of her interest in real estate introduced Sharon to Nick Kakarnakis, manager of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties’ Beverly Hills office. Kakarnakis was immediately impressed by Sharon’s enthusiasm, energy and persistence, and Sharon made a decision.
“I felt the move to Berkshire Hathaway Home Services California Properties was the right move,” she said. “It would allow me to grow, learn, master the skills of working with real estate. The company has so many resources that agents at all levels can easily complete a transaction for their customers every time. I’m really impressed. “
“We are very pleased that Sharon has joined our office,” Chacharnakis said. “She is a pleasure to work with and fits perfectly with our energetic agents and staff. With her excellent communication skills, honed over decades in television and in the media, we are confident that she will become a phenomenal agent who works tirelessly on behalf of her clients. ”
Tay was born in Singapore and emigrated with her family to New York as a child. She graduated from Boston University with a BA in Television Journalism and a BA in International Relations. Her television presenter career began in Monterey, California. In 1993, she came to Los Angeles, where she hosted the early morning KTLA news. After 11 years, she became the host of an entertainment show on MSNBC. Sharon eventually returned to Los Angeles to host the award-winning newscasts on CBS / KCAL, where she remained for 13 years.
