Eaton Vance Announces Variable Rate Loan Portfolio Management Appointments



BOSTON, June 29, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Eaton Vance Management (“Eaton Vance”) Announces Appointment Today Ralph H. Hinckley Jr., CFA and Jake T. Leml, CFA, Eaton Vance’s floating rate portfolio management teams. June 30, 2021and retirement Craig P. Russ, Co-Director of Investments in Floating Rate Loans, in June 2022

Mr Hinckley and Mr Lemle will join Mr Russ’s team and Andrew N. Swin, CFA, as portfolio managers of the Eaton Vance Floating-Rate Fund (Class I: EIBLX) and the Eaton Vance Floating-Rate Advantage Fund (Class I: EIFAX) and the team of Mr Russ, Mr Pig, Kelly Bacci Gerrity as well as Stephen S. Concannon, CFA, as portfolio managers for the Eaton Vance Floating-Rate & High Income Fund (Class I: EIFHX). In addition to their new mutual fund management responsibilities, Mr. Hinckley and Mr. Lemle will continue their current responsibilities with the Eaton Vance floating rate group, Mr. Hinckley as a credit analyst and portfolio manager, and Mr. Mr. Lemle as Director of Loan Trading and Capital Markets.

Mr. Russ will retain his responsibilities as co-director of investments in floating rate loans until the end of 2021 and his responsibilities for managing a portfolio of products both in the US and outside the US until retirement. He will spend the next 12 months focusing on ensuring continued investment and service improvements, and a smooth transition. Mr. Russ has served as co-director of investments in floating rate loans since 2014 and has since led the Eaton Vance floating rate lending group with Mr. Swin. March 2019… Mr. Russ has been a leading member of the Eaton Vance floating rate borrowing group since joining in 1997, first as a credit research analyst, then as a portfolio manager and finally as a co-director. Mr. Russ began his investment management career in 1985. Prior to joining Eaton Vance, he worked in commercial lending at State Street Bank.

Mr. Swin will continue to lead the team as the sole director of investment in floating rate loans in January 2022… He is an industry veteran with 26 years of experience and deep knowledge of the Eaton Vance floating rate loan market and investment strategies. Previously, he held senior management positions at Eaton Vance, focusing on floating rate loan research, trading and portfolio management functions. Mr. Swin served as Director of Loan Trading and Capital Markets from 2001 to 2019 and portfolio manager since 2007. He joined Eaton Vance as a Senior Credit Analyst in 1999 and previously worked as a Corporate Credit Officer at State Street Bank with Mr. Russ, since 1995. Mr. Swin is a member of the Board of Directors of the Loan Syndication & Trading Association.
