This is a positive moment for Levitt, who impressed Manchester United early in the preseason.

However, the youngster is not close to the very competitive main team of United and started last Sunday as captain of the national team under 23.

The Chance to Use Levitt

Levitt needs a successful loan to revitalize his career at the Red Devils and improve his own prospects if he eventually goes out of line.

The midfielder had a tough loan period at Charlton Athletic last season as he broke off a one-year contract in January after failing to secure a permanent starting place.

Levitt played in Croatia in the second half of last season for Istra.

That was enough to earn him a spot on the Wales squad for Euro 2020, and he made a one-off appearance in the tournament as a substitute.

Levitt, 20, is a strong passer who has impressed United academies in previous seasons.

He made his Manchester United debut against Astana in 2019 but has not played in competitive matches since then.

Levitt’s departure will open up spots for United under 23, and the exciting teenager Isak Hansen-Aaroen will potentially be among the winners.

Team-mate Rhys Devine has already made a loan to the Scottish Premier League, joining St Johnstone in July.

UPDATE: Dundee United now confirmed that the transaction was completed

Boss Tam Courts said: “Dylan is a versatile midfielder who loves to control games and help attacking players. Already a member of the Wales national team and part of their recent European squad, he is a young player looking to play at the highest level.

“I believe he is capable of playing with all of our current midfielders, but he brings something different that will give us better opportunities and more flexibility in the coming season.”
