DuPage Tornado Victim Loan Approaching

Businesses, nonprofits, homeowners and renters affected by the tornado that swept through Dupage County this summer are encouraged to apply for disaster loans for physical damage as soon as possible by the September 14 deadline.

The US Small Business Administration has issued a Disaster Declaration for DuPage and neighboring counties, allowing those affected by the June 20 hurricane to apply for long-term, low-interest loans to help with the recovery process.

Waiting for an application could result in unnecessary delays in receiving disaster relief assistance, SBA Field Operations Center Eastern Director Kem Fleming said in a statement.

Applications can be submitted online at DisasterLoanAssistance.sba.gov/ela/s or download from sba.gov/disaster and mail to the US Small Business Management, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76155.

The deadline for returning claims for damages is April 18, 2022.
