BATAVIA – The deadline for filing a federal loan to cover economic damage due to frost, which occurred from April 15 to June 1, 2020, is set on September 15.

Those eligible include small businesses; small agricultural cooperatives; small aquaculture enterprises; and most private nonprofit organizations in Genesee, Orleans and Livingston counties, according to the US Small Business Administration.

Loans are available to those who have suffered financial losses as a result of the natural disaster.

The loan amount can be up to $ 2 million with an interest rate of 3.75 percent for small businesses and 2.75 percent for private non-profit organizations.

Applicants can apply online using the Electronic Loan Application through SBA’s secure website at DisasterLoanAssistance.sba.gov/ela/s/ and it is recommended to apply in accordance with the declaration SBA -16854.
