Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher is about to sign for Crystal palace on a seasonal loan after interest waiver from Leeds and Newcastle.
The England U21 midfielder has yet to play for the senior team. Chelsea and wants to continue growing after spending last season on loan from West Brom.
Palace nearly signed the 21-year-old on loan last year, but instead borrowed Michi Batshuayi from Chelsea and continued to monitor his progress. They were rebuilding their team after appointment of Patrick Vieira as his manager and hope that Gallagher, who also had credits at Swansea and Charlton, will add more energy and quality to the midfield.
Palace wants to reduce the age of its team by allowing experienced players like Patrick van Anholt, Gary Cahill and Andros Townsend to leave, and they were eager to support Vieira in the market. They strengthened their defenses by signing Mark Guei from Chelsea in a deal that could grow to £ 20 million, and purchase of Joachim Andersen from Lyon. They also signed 19-year-old striker Michael Olise from Reading and new goalkeeper Remy Matthews.
