The CrossCountry Mortgage Paint the District murals competition is seeking new artist proposals by September 1st for a chance to enter the second round of its annual competition, which will provide final winners with the opportunity to exhibit their murals at the new CrossCountry Mortgage headquarters in Cleveland. In addition to calling for new artists, the company announced that an open online vote is now open until September 30 to select the winning artist for the first round of the competition.
CrossCountry Mortgage announced a Paint District competition in June, coinciding with the start of construction on its 168,000 square foot corporate campus. The competition celebrates the artistic spirit of the historic district and the company’s new role as a member of society.
“We want everyone in Greater Cleveland to see and feel the creative energy of the Superior Arts District as we prepare to move our headquarters to this exciting area,” Brand Director Laura Soave said in a statement. “We are very pleased with the reaction to our first round of competition and encourage other artists to apply for the second round.”
Artists’ proposals are accepted for the competition “Paint the District” on a quarterly basis. From submissions received for each round, CrossCountry Mortgage will select three artists to vote publicly this quarter. The winners of each of the four rounds will advance to the finals, where they will create a proposal for permanent installation at the company’s new headquarters, which is expected to open in spring 2022.
