Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame: NorthMarq’s Patrick Minea

Each year, Midwest Real Estate News selects a new group of CRE professionals into its Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame. Last year, despite its difficulties, was no exception. Today we take a look at the busy career of Patrick Minea, executive vice president and executive managing director of the company’s Minneapolis office. NorthMarq

Patrick Minea has steadily climbed the ranks at NorthMarq’s Minneapolis office. Since joining the company in 1992, this industry veteran has gone from producer to managing director in his current position as executive vice president and executive managing director.

Minea is also a co-chair of the production committee and investment advisor group at NorthMarq. He also serves on the company’s executive committee, where he leads the development of three areas of NorthMarq’s business: debt and equity, investment sales and loan servicing.

Why was Minea able to grow so confidently in her career? He has a deep knowledge of commercial finance, provides his clients with top-notch services and does not shy away from the hard work required to achieve those clients’ goals. This formula has allowed Minea to become one of the most respected financial professionals in the Minneapolis commercial real estate market.

Minea’s associates describe him as a proven manufacturer with deep knowledge in all areas of debt and equity finance. Minea has specialized in structured debt, joint venture and traditional debt over his 25+ year career.

Building such a long and successful career is not without its challenges. But Minea said the people he met and worked with in commercial real estate made this a journey worth taking.

“The industry has always been interesting and challenging, but people and relationships are the best part of the business,” he said. “We work with developers and capital providers, and the professionals I’ve dealt with over the years have always been diverse and interesting.”

Minea said he has no objection to the competitive nature of commercial real estate.

“I’ve always liked the competition, I’ve tried to make deals,” he said. “And the variety of projects is always interesting and usually challenging.”

The Menaea also takes time to do justice to her community and profession. He is a member of the Minnesota Housing Association, the Minnesota Shopping Center Association, the Urban Land Institute, and the Mortgage Bankers Association.

Locally, Minea worked for two years as Treasurer at the Minnesota Chapter of NAIOP and served on the Board of NAIOP-MN for three years.

Outside of office hours, Menaea said that he loves to travel with family and friends. He also enjoys spending time in his lake hut. You can also find the Minea on the golf course. He says his game is not great, but he really loves to play sports.
