BATESWILL, Arkansas (KAIT). Independence County College has launched a new loan assistance program for prospective graduates with low income after graduation.
Lyon College has introduced a program for new and incoming students starting in the fall semester of 2021.
Students must register by Tuesday August 17th to participate in the program.
The college is the first in Arkansas to offer the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP).
The program is known as the Promise of Lyon.
It can help graduates pay off federal student, parental PLUS, and private alternative loans if their post-graduate income is below $ 43,000, according to data Press release, and will do this until the amount exceeds this amount or until the loans are repaid.
To be eligible for the program, students must graduate from Lyon College, work at least 30 hours per week, and have an income below $ 43,000.
The program is offered to Lyon College through Ardeo Education Solutions.
