Current Republican Voter Registrar and City Secretary nominee Fred DeCaro this week released two new endorsements from individuals who have led the Greenwich Association of Realtors (GAR) and Greenwich Listing Service (GMLS) for more than two decades.

Both former executives praise DeCaro for the accuracy of the data he has provided to the real estate community and for his ability to maintain relationships with multiple firms and agents in a highly competitive environment.

Former GAR chief executive Tracy Chester writes that DeCaro has always been active in initiating improvements to the systems and processes he tested. “He’s the one who makes things better all the time. Sometimes this is due to technology. Sometimes it works better. “

Chester also praised DeCaro’s ability to provide customer support across multiple companies simultaneously due to his discretion and reliability. Chester said, “Although his client base included dozens of realtors and firms, Fred’s freedom of action and independence gave him tremendous confidence in a business where competition can be fierce. Fred was the maestro who calmed so many realtors at the same time. “

A letter of support has also been issued from Diane Ivey, director of MLS for 20 years. Ivy highlighted DeCaro’s work in providing objective data to the real estate community. His Greenwich property sales report has become a database of records for over a decade.

“Fred has never been a real estate agent,” Ivy said. “But he was an independent source that hundreds of realtors relied on for quality data.”

Ivy went on to say that after retiring from MLS, she worked part-time in a registry office, where she saw firsthand the transformation of the office through innovation and technology.

“Fred has made the registrar office the gold standard in his industry,” she said.

“If you have been involved in real estate transactions in Greenwich for any significant period, you know that these two ladies are respected professionals,” DeCaro said in a statement. “I am grateful for their every support. I am grateful for the support of real people using the services of the city clerk, as opposed to members of the political elite. “

Full Endorsement Statement Tracy Chester

“Comrade Republicans,

My name is Tracy Chester. From September 1991 to January 2010, I was the CEO of the Greenwich Realtors Association, which served an average of about 1,000 realtors in Greenwich.

For over a decade, I have worked with Fred DeCaro to improve our technical infrastructure and bring complementary technology to our offices, as well as how we communicate with residents and our realtors. Fred is always active. He’s the one who makes things better all the time. Sometimes this is due to technology. Sometimes it does better. Fred created the first Greenwich Realtor Association website. He then added features to allow realtors to share data about their ads.

When it comes to accuracy, data and accounting, there is no one better. When a newsletter specifically targeted at the Greenwich Real Estate community disappeared without warning, Fred took the ball in his hands and began collecting data and distributing it electronically to meet vital needs. In addition to working with the Association, Fred has also worked with most of the city’s major real estate firms. Although his client base included dozens of realtors and firms, Fred’s freedom of action and independence instilled in him tremendous confidence in a business where competition can be fierce. Fred was the maestro who calmed so many realtors at the same time.

You have the ability to put Fred in charge of your most important land and life records. I can’t think of anyone better at this task.
Sincerely,
Tracy Chester “

“To members of the Greenwich Republican City Committee:

I am writing to fully support Mr. Fred A. DeCaro III as City Clerk. I am not doing this as a politician. I knew Mr. DeCaro and worked with him for twenty-five years.

First, I was the director of the Greenwich MLS for twenty years. Data consolidation and protection was the main reason we hired Fred in 1996. Throughout Fred’s tenure, we have maintained an impeccable record for protecting sensitive information. Fred has never been a realtor. But he was an independent source that hundreds of realtors relied on for quality data.

In 2003, when the famous Greenwich real estate sales record suddenly stopped publishing, Fred was approached by some of the best agents in the field at the time and asked if he would start something like that. Fred converted this paper newsletter to searchgreenwich.net, which covered all Greenwich property sales (including non-MLS sales) and has become a record database for over a decade. He improved service by providing agents and office ratings. His knowledge, his service to hundreds of realtors and his

the professionalism was exemplary and the product he created exceeded all our expectations. Since Fred ditched the product due to industry changes in 2017, no one has produced anything like it. Since my retirement from MLS, I have had the privilege of working with Fred part-time at the registrar’s office. In this position, he was also an innovator and visionary. Fred has made this office the gold standard in his industry.

I believe, based on the above and more, that the RTC will serve well by endorsing Fred DeCaro as the next city clerk. He works with great passion and knowledge. When his employees need him, he is always there, and the people of this city will greatly benefit from his leadership. I thank you in advance and look forward to voting for Fred in November. elections

Yours faithfully,
Diane Ivey “
