He wants to put his own stamp on the squad he inherited from Frank Lampard and add fresh faces, especially up front, with scoring goals having been a problem for the Blues last term.

Lukaku’s five-word verdict
Romelu Lukaku has once again appeared to rule out a return to Chelsea this summer.
During another Q&A session on the social media platform today, the Belgian had to deal with a request for him to grace the top flight of English football once again.
When asked by former Manchester City winger Trevor Sinclair if he fancied playing in Pep Guardiola’s side, Lukaku’s reply all-but confirmed his stance on leaving Inter this summer.
Azpi helps Spain win
Cesar Azpilicueta was named in the Spain starting XI for their crucial Euro 2020 clash against Slovakia.
And is it a coincidence that his return saw the Spaniard finally pick up three points?
Gilmour move to be completed next week
The big news coming out of Stamford Bridge this evening surrounds Billy Gilmour.
According to The Athletic, the midfielder is likely to complete a season-long loan move to Norwich City next week.
Would this be a good move for the Scot?
Rice ‘open’ to move
According to Eurosport, Declan Rice is understood to be increasingly open to the idea of leaving West Ham United this summer.
This could be great news for Chelsea who are most likely to lead the chase for him.
However, getting him out of West Ham will prove very difficult this summer as the Hammers do not want to lose Rice and believe he is now worth more than the £70million they valued him at last year.
Chelsea have been linked to a cluster of players this summer.
So we have taken a look at how Thomas Tuchel’s squad could look at the start of the season.
Jack Grealish wants to team up with Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
But not necessarily on the pitch for the Blues, but rather on the popular game Call of Duty: Warzone.
When given the option between Mount, Tammy Abraham and Declan Rice to team up with on the game, Grealish made it clear who his ‘dream’ partner would be.
Mason Mount all day. He’s so good. I think it’s quite well known actually that he’s good.
£56m cash injection
Two names that Thomas Tuchel has in mind to bolster his Chelsea squad are Inter Milan ace Achraf Hakimi and Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund.
However, neither player will come cheaply.
Fortunately, though, Chelsea have no shortage of fringe players that they are open to selling this summer, both to trim the size of the squad and raise funds for other new additions.

Blues not interested in Jadon Sancho
Chelsea will no challenge Manchester United for the singature of Jadon Sancho according to a report in the Daily Express.
The England international is belived to be keen on a move to teh Premier League but according to the report the Blues are not interested in a move for the 21-year-old.
This is down to Thomas Tuchel rating Callum Hudson-Odio so highly, the Blues boss is belived to be of teh opinion that academy graduate Hudson-Odoi has plenty more to come and can match Sancho in terms of goals and asists in the coming years.
Pre-season shaping up
Chelsea’s pre-season plans are taking shape with an inter-London tournament agaisnt Arsenal and Spurs confirmed for August 1 and August 4.
The tournament will be sponsored by mentla health charity Mind with funds from the games set to be split between the charity and club Foundations.
Declan Rice open to Blues return
According to a report in the Daily Express West Ham midfielder Declan Rice is ‘very open’ to a return to Stamford Bridge eight years on after being released from the club’s academy.
Former Blues manager Frank Lampard was desperate for Rice to sign but according to the report Thomas Tuchel is also keen on adding Rice to his midfield options.
Patrick Viera backing Gilmour for Blues success
Former France captain Patrick Viera has given Billy Gilmour his full backing and expects big things from the Scottish youngster.
“He’s not quite physical or really strong. But his personality allowed him to get on the ball and make the game from the back,” Viera said.
“His teammates aren’t scared to give him the ball because they know how good he is on the ball. And I think he has a really good future ahead of him.”
Blues agree deal for Colwill
Promising youngster Levi Colwill has agreed a four-year dealat Chelsea with the expectation that he will be loaned out next season in order to gain first-team expereince.
Colwill, who joined the Blues as an Under-9, established himself as a standout performer for the development squad last season. He played 18 times in Premier League 2 and also featured twice for the Under-18s in the FA Youth Cup.
The 18-year-old’s performances caught the eye of Thomas Tuchel and Colwill trained with the first-team squad in February and during the final weeks of the campaign as cover for the injured Andreas Christensen.
Erlin Haaland update
The biggest transfer saga of 2021 is set to be, if it is not already, that of Elring Haaland’s future. The Norwegian striker is reportedly a target for not only Chelsea but a host of other major European powers including Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Real Madrid.
The Blues are believed to be in a strong position alongside Los Blancos with reports surfacing that Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Haaland and made a transfer offer to Borussia Dortmund for his services.

John Terry takes a step towards management
Chelsea legend John Terry has taken a huge step towards a managerial career after completing his UEFA Pro Licence.
Former Blues captain Terry is currently Dean Smith’s No. 2 at Aston Villa, a post he has held since 2018 and has now completed the highest level of coaching certificate available.
Terry has spoken in the past about his ambition to be a manager saying it would be a ‘dream’ to manage Chelsea one day, he is now one step closer to that goal
Billy Gilmour’s future
Norwich City are reported to be keen on a season-long loan move for Scotland star Billy Gilmour according to The Athletic.
Thomas Tuchel has previously said that Gilmour’s future will be discussed during the off-season and a potential loan move is bound to be part of these talks.
Real Madrid set Varane price
Metro are reporting that French star Raphael Varane is set to depart Real Madrid this summer with a move to the Premier League on the cards.
According to the report, Varane could be available for just £40 million due to having only 12 months left on his current contract and not having any intention of signing a new deal at the Bernabeu.
AC Milan in for unwanted Chelsea midfielder
Tiemoue Bakayoko’s time at Chelsea has been largely spent away from the club on loan with Spells at Monaco, Napoli and AC Milan, and the Milanese giants are keen on making keeping the Frenchman next season according to reports in Italy.
MilanNews writes that Bakayoko could return to the San Siro for the 2021/22 campaign as cover for Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer who will both be absent for part of the season sure to their participation in the Africa Cup of Nations in January and February 2022.
Mount and Chilwell avaialble
After England secured top spot in Group D Blue duo Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell will be available for the last-16 tie on Tuesday evening.
The pair will not be able to train with the squad ahead of the game so their inclusion is not guaranteed but former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole and ITV pundit Roy Keane are backing Mount in particular to make the team, read more here

Long-term Chelsea transfer target Achraf Hakimi is high on the priority list of Thomas Tuchel this summer but the Blues face a tough battle with Paris Saint-Germain for the defenders signature.

Chelsea were briefly linked with a move for Turkey international Hakan Calhanoglu when the summer transfer window opened.
The attacking midfielder’s future had been up in the air with his contract at AC Milan expiring next week.
But there will be no more talk of Calhanoglu arriving at Stamford Bridge this summer as the playmaker has sealed a move to Milan’s bitter rivals Inter.
Ziyech linked with AC Milan
After seeing Hakan Calhanoglu sign for Inter Milan, AC Milan need creative recruits.
According to Di Marzio, they are considering Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech as a potential player to fill the void.
The Moroccan has already been linked with a departure so this could be one to keep an eye on.
Reports in Italy claim that Borussia Dortmund have slapped a €175m (£149m) price-tag on Erling Haaland’s head.
This represents a new price tag for the striker.
Previously it was reported that a monstrous €180million (£153m) bid would be enough to tempt the Bundesliga side into selling Haaland this summer.
Brown signs contract
Izzy Brown has signed a 1+1 contract at Preston North End after seeing his time at Chelsea come to an end.
