One thing everyone seems to agree on is that Chiemue Bakayoko will spend at least the next season on loan in Milan… This deal has been in the works for a while, although it was always expected to close very late, presumably to take advantage of Chelsea’s desperation and lack of leverage in the situation.
This time is at hand.
But now it still seems unclear on what terms the said loan will be provided. After a week of meetings, there appears to be a two-year loan with a purchase opportunity that could turn into a purchase commitment depending on certain unnamed conditions.
This is the latest information Collected by Semper Milanby updating the previous reports of regular oracles, which previously only reported an annual loan.

Since this is a two-year loan, Chelsea will extend Bakayoko’s contract until 2024 rather than 2023 to give us some transfer value protection. The call option / commitment is expected to be around € 15-20 million, with a start-up loan fee of around € 500,000, but possibly up to € 1.5 million.
The deal is expected to close by the end of the weekend, rather than a second earlier when the window closes on Tuesday.
