Chelsea and Fiorentina agree on loan to David Zappacosta – report

Fiorentina is said to “Taking decisive steps” against Davide Zappacosta this week, and it looks like these steps have indeed been taken and they have indeed been decisive – or at least will be crucial if Alfredo Pedulla’s latest exclusive turns out to be right.

Oracle Sarri states that Fiorentina has “full agreement” both Chelsea and the 29-year-old right-back on loan for the entire season. A purchase option will presumably be included, and Zappacosta appears to want to start a new cycle in his career, although his contract with Chelsea is also due to be extended until 2023 in case this new cycle doesn’t actually materialize.

While agreements exist, it is clear that the deal will not be completed until after Paul Lirola’s move to Marseille from Fiorentina has been agreed. This should happen any day, so hopefully Zappacosta won’t have to wait long either.

Fiorentina kick off their season this weekend, visiting one of Zappacosta’s former on-loan teams, Roma.
