Central Bank of New Zealand to consider tightening mortgage lending standards

August 3 (Reuters)The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) said on Tuesday that it will soon begin consultations on how to tighten the country’s mortgage lending standards.

The announcement comes after New Zealand house prices have exploded in the past 12 months as investors capitalize on historically low interest rates and cheap access to capital as part of government-stimulated spending to stimulate the pandemic. (https://bit.ly/3rPwEH1)
