California real estate legislation to watch out for in the second half of 2021

Law360 (Jun 30, 2021, 3:07 pm ET) – California lawmakers are trying to resolve the state’s housing affordability crisis, and real estate lawyers will be keeping a close eye on several legislation in the second half of the year that aims to create more housing.

Lawyers are keeping a close eye on a bill that could speed up the development of some of the available projects, and lawyers are also watching a separate piece of legislation that paves the way for dividing single-family plots into multiple units.

Lawyers are also keen to see another bill play out that will allow certain retail and office properties to be converted into residential properties.
