Borussia Dortmund seeks loan for Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea | Transmission window

Borussia Dortmund want to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi on loan and are not embarrassed by Thomas Tuchel’s insistence that Chelsea intend to keep the striker this summer.

Hudson-Odoi have not yet been introduced Chelsea in the Premier League this season and is open to transfer to Dortmund on loan until the transfer window closes on Tuesday. The 20-year-old wants more opportunities to showcase his talent and is waiting to see if the Bundesliga club supports their interest.

Tuchel left the door open for Hudson-Odoi to fight for his future at Chelsea when asked about the youngster on Friday. However, European champions have a huge selection of attacking options, and Hudson-Odoi, who has struggled to keep playing since signing a five-year £ 120,000 deal in September 2019, knows he is unlikely to start regularly this season. …

In the long run, Hudson-Odoi would have preferred to prove himself at Chelsea after rising to the club’s academy. However, there is a growing awareness that he needs to play regularly and could benefit from campaigning at Dortmund, whose new manager, Marco Rose, has a reputation as a player in attacking football.

The German side has experience in developing young English talents. Jadon Sancho, who moved to Manchester United this summer for £ 73m, made a name for himself at Dortmund, while Jude Bellingham was on board when Rose’s side beat Hoffenheim on Friday. Bellingham moved to Dortmund from Birmingham in the summer of 2020 and the 18-year-old was part of the England squad for Euro 2020.

Chelsea are set to move forward and sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde following the sale of Kurt Zuma to West Ham for £ 29.8m. They are still negotiating with Seville over Kunde. Even before the window closes, there is still the option to loan Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
