After watching Harris English defeat Kramer Hickock in the eight-hole playoffs over the weekend at the Travelers, we travel to Detroit, Michigan for the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic. The event was added to the PGA TOUR schedule three years ago and will be held for the third straight season at Detroit Golf Club (par 72, 7370 yards), which was designed by Donald Ross. A year ago, Bryson DeShambeau escaped from the tournament, winning by three shots and finishing at -23. Last season, Nate Lashley had won his first-ever PGA TOUR victory in his first Rocket Mortgage Classic with a winning number of -25. Based on these low ratings, Detroit Golf Club is one of the easiest courses these players will encounter throughout the season, and we can confidently expect the winning score to hit -20 again.
Simply put, Lashley and DeShambeau are complete opposites when it comes to distance. The latter dominated the track with his driver last season, finishing in 1st place.st in the distance while Lashley finished 44th in statistics during his Rocket Mortgage win. Obviously, players of all lengths can compete in this location, and while they attacked Detroit’s golf club in many ways out of sight, both DeShambeau and Lashley had strong weeks here with their Irons, finishing 14th.th and 4th got into the greens, respectively. In addition, both champions lit up on this green, which is a mixture of POA and bent grass. DeShambeau was in the lead in SGP, while Lashley finished in 2nd place.nd… In terms of the holes where they did the most damage, both players were in the lead in their fields in SG with a pair of four, and also finished the week in the top five in SG with a pair of five. The importance of the fourth parity score is essential for every tournament, but this week we should also focus on the strong fourth parity players. Unsurprisingly, four par-fives on this par-72 count as the four simplest holes in the scoreboard, and walking away with at least a bird every time you bet on one of these par-fives is essential if you want a chance to win. … this event.
Just two weeks before the Open, which will be the fourth and final major of the season, and the first Open in two years, most of the world’s top players will not be attending this year’s Rocket Mortgage Classic. Including DeShambaut in his title defense, only four of the world’s top 20 golfers are competing in Detroit this week. However, there are many attractive bets to consider and below I bring you three of my favorite bets on Bookmaker DraftKings for Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Forget Simpson’s miss at the US Open and support him in this soft field. Prior to his failure on South Field, which Simpson never liked, with two missed cuts in three games, the 35-year-old had made the top 10 four times in his previous ten starts. He has the opportunity to win the bird feast we’ll see in Detroit this week, finishing in 20th place.th in SGP and 19th in% this season and last year’s Rocket Mortgage Classic, Simpson finished at T8.
Another famous Ross course that is included in the PGA TOUR schedule every year is the East Lake Golf Course for the TOUR Championship. Simpson’s resume in Atlanta scored three top-fives in eight starts and 13 in the last 50 rounds at Ross Stadiums.th ranked player in the world takes 4th placeth total strokes are typed.
In his first start since the birth of his fourth child, Day spent one of the best weeks of the year at the Travelers, finishing in T10. He took 7th placeth in green has been stuck on TPC River Highlands and has now hit 4.9 T2G hits in the last two starts. Sitting on 66th in world golf rankings, winning of the Day this week will put him back in the top 50, securing a spot in the Open in two weeks. The Australian did not qualify for the US Open two weeks ago due to his poor rating, which was his first missed Major since 2012.
Day is clearly competing in the Rocket Mortgage Classic to improve his world rankings, and even though he missed out last season, Detroit Golf Club is the perfect place for him to return to the winning circle. Day has made six top 20 hits in his last seven starts on Ross-designed circuits, including winning the Plainfield Country Club in 2015.
Having conceded six in a row, Reeve has certainly regained his form after spending three straight weekends, including a top 25 pair. The key to this resurgence was his dramatic improvement as a striker. He has scored at least three T2G and APP hits in each of those last three starts. Place all the last 12 rounds of these players side by side and Reeve will get 3rd place.rd in SG APP, 2nd in SGT2G and 10th in GIR. Apart from this awesome T2G game, the 39-year-old is ranked 6th.th in SG for four during this race.
During his first start at the Detroit golf club last season, Reeve shot seven and under 65 on Thursday, putting him at 4.th put the headline in the second round. However, the veteran exploded on Friday and shot six to 78, keeping him out of the cut line. This stellar first round shows us that Reeve is on the pitch, this friendly par 72 is a circuit he can excel on, and I think we’ll see how he pays off with a strong performance this weekend.
