When the lights come on in the basements of parking lots, on stairs or in other common areas in the ATP Real Estate portfolio at the end of 2022, electricity consumption will be offset by the corresponding generation of electricity from the new Danish solar park. This new Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) ensures that the amount of new green electricity that will be added to the grid will match the consumption of the common areas of the property, as well as the total consumption of ATP Real Estate’s own offices in Copenhagen and Aarhus, Denmark.

Martin Wang Hansen, CEO of ATP Real Estate, comments on the agreement:

“We are delighted to be fully switching our electricity purchases to green energy and thereby helping to accelerate the transition to green and the increase in renewable energy in Denmark. Improving the sustainability of our property benefits and delights our clients and also provides better long-term profits for our members. For us as property owners, this is an attractive option that supports both growing consumer demand and increased demands for sustainability in real estate. “

Head of ESG at ATP Real Estate Peter Hebin Bruun adds:

“We are constantly reducing our CO emissions2 emissions from our property portfolio through numerous energy improvements, and we look forward to taking another big step in the right direction with the new Power Purchase Agreement. We have already installed solar panels in some of our facilities. Through this agreement, we can ensure that new green energy is used for electricity consumption in public areas at all of our facilities. We are looking forward to this initiative. “

A solar park will be built in Stevning near Sønnerborg and will be completed during 2022. The 35 MW solar park will supply green electricity, which corresponds to an annual electricity consumption of approximately 22,500 Danes. In addition, the new solar park will be built on market conditions without government support.

“It makes a huge difference when companies like ATP Real Estate award PPAs that have a real impact on the construction of new renewable energy plants. They show how those who consume energy can promote the green transition. That is why we are delighted to partner with ATP Real Estate and are delighted to be able to support their sustainability efforts, ”says Rasmus Lildholdt Kjer, CEO of Better Energy.

“For several years Energi Danmark has been purchasing electricity from the electricity market for ATP Real Estate. We will now tackle the PPA from Better Energy, where we ensure that the agreement gives ATP Real Estate the same budgetary security as before. We are proud and pleased that this agreement opens up new opportunities for renewable energy on the Internet, ”concludes Viggo Aavang Jensen, Sales Manager, Energi Danmark.
