Arsenal midfielder Matteo Genduzi, who played at Hertha Berlin last year, has been loaned to Marseille, the French Ligue 1 club said on Tuesday.
Masrail signed a one-year buyout agreement with the 22-year-old Frenchman.
Genduzi made his Ligue 1 debut for Lorient in 2016 and joined Arsenal two years later.
He played 82 games for the Gunners, scored one goal and left the bench in the 2019 Europa League final against Chelsea.
Last season, Genduzi scored twice in 24 appearances for Hertha Berlin.
France coach Didier Deschamps called him in as cover for Paul Pogba for two Euro 2020 qualifying matches, but he was not used as a substitute.
Genduzi’s arrival came three days after Marseille signed a permanent contract with Argentine defender Leonardo Balerdi.
Balerdi, who came on loan from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, has signed a five-year contract.
Marseille have already extended their contract with Spanish center-back Альlvaro Gonzalez and have signed young American striker Conrad de la Fuente from Barcelona and Brazilian midfielder Gerson from Flamengo.
