ARA Dunedin expands its presence in the European real estate market by acquiring an investment management business from InfraRed Capital Partners.
ARA Dunedin has agreed to buy InfraRed European Real Estate Investment Management, a dedicated discretionary real estate fund with a capital of $ 1.4 billion (€ 1.2 billion) under management.
ARA Dunedin, owned by global real estate fund manager ARA Asset Management, is a dedicated UK real estate investor and asset manager.
As part of the latest deal, InfraRed’s European real estate management team is investing in a minority stake in ARA Dunedin.
Financial details were not disclosed.
InfraRed Capital said the deal is the result of a strategic analysis aimed at identifying the long-term evolution of its real estate investment management business. As part of this review in May 2021, InfraRed transferred its Asian property management business to BentallGreenOak…
Werner von Gionneau, CEO of InfraRed Capital Partners, said: “After strategic analysis, we have concluded that our European real estate business will best serve the future under the new owner. This deal will create a win-win situation for all stakeholders, ensuring continuity and stability for the team, leveraging the competencies and influence of ARA. ”
Von Gionneau said InfraRed will focus on its infrastructure proposal to provide long-term, predictable revenue streams for its investors from assets in core and energy infrastructure.
Mark Ebbinghaus, CEO of ARA Europe and Chairman of ARA Dunedin, said: “ARA is one of the largest real asset managers in the Asia Pacific region with a wide and high quality investor base across the region. The addition of a real estate team to InfraRed gives us the opportunity to offer our growing client base another option for investing in European real estate through a leading and well-established European value-added fund manager through ARA Dunedin, as part of the ARA Group.
“ARA Dunedin has over 20 years of experience as a dedicated UK real estate investor and has recently completed several major deals in the sector.”
ESR announced plans earlier this month buy ARA Asset Management, which manages $ 95 billion in assets.
