He moved to Atlético on loan for the season and both clubs have the opportunity to renew for the next season.
Meanwhile, Atlético have allowed Saul Niguez to leave the club before today’s deadline, and Chelsea have confirmed a deal to sign the 26-year-old on a lease for the season with a buyout option.
At Atletico Sol fell into the hierarchy. He played 33 games last season when Atletico won La Liga by scoring two goals. But this summer, Diego Simeone’s team signed Rodrigo de Paul, who plays in the center of midfield. He started the club’s first two games in this campaign but was thrown onto the bench after a recent 2-2 draw against Villarreal, serving as a second-half substitute.
The 26-year-old midfielder has a contract with Atlético until 2026.
