Alvaro Morata: Juventus extended lease to Atletico Madrid striker for another season

How did he feel last season?

Although Juventus’ season has been well below their usual standards, Morata has had a solid campaign on a personal level.

He scored 20 goals in all competitions, including 11 in Serie A, and was a regular in Andrea Pirlo’s main team.

Morata also made 11 assists as Juventus finished fourth in the league and were knocked out by Porto in the Champions League in the round of 16.

How are things at Juventus?

After an unsuccessful debut season as head coach, when Juventus finished fourth on the last day of the season thanks to Napoli’s draw at home with Hellas Verona, the club let Pirlo go.

Pirlo’s 4-4-2 system did not work consistently and Juventus left the Champions League much earlier than expected.

It was announced last month that Max Allegri will return to the club as head coach. Allegri previously spent five years at Juventus between 2014 and 2019, winning the title in all of his seasons.

Longtime director Fabio Paratici also recently left the club to join Tottenham Hotspur, although there is still speculation that Cristiano Ronaldo may also leave.
