$ 7,000 COVID Mortgage Assistance for Norristown Residents

NORRISTOWN, PA – Several thousand more dollars are now available for Norristown residents seeking mortgage assistance due to COVID difficulties.

This is thanks to a new amendment passed by Norristown City Council during its Tuesday night meeting that approved a change in how federal city aid funds were allocated.

Homeowners can now apply for assistance up to $ 7,000. The previous maximum baseline value was $ 3,700.

Homeowners can also use funds to assist utilities.

The council’s ruling states that assistance can be provided if residents are affected during the pandemic due to circumstances such as “layoffs, layoffs or reduced working hours.”

The money comes from the Community Development Grant Program (CDBG CV-3) at the federal level.
